Corporate Responsibility
Corporate responsibility is all about businesses considering the whole impact of their activities, and understanding how they can affect customers, suppliers, employees and shareholders – as well as the wider community and the environment.
At Schroders, corporate responsibility is an integral part of who we are and how we do business. Our approach is based around behaving responsibly in four main areas – our people, our environment, our marketplace and the communities in which we operate. Charitable Giving
Schroders matches charity donations made by its employees and makes a number of larger, one-off, donations to charities nominated by employees each year. In 2007, we gave £1.25m globally to a wide range of charitable causes.
Volunteering
All of our employees are given the opportunity to take up to 15 hours’ paid leave each year to provide volunteer services to the community. Our people can spend this time working with a charity they support personally or taking part in one of the many local and overseas volunteering activities organised by Schroders.
Socially Responsible Investment (SRI)
Schroders is fully committed to creating investment strategies which seek to maximise both financial return and social good. We routinely carry out research into the environmental, social and ethical views held by companies and the kinds of policies and performance management systems that they have. Where this research identifies potential financial or reputational risks, their relevance is assessed and they are given appropriate consideration when constructing portfolios.
