The Docklands, including Canary Wharf, covers a large area and comprises almost entirely new-build properties and high-rise apartment buildings. It is easy to reach the City although the West End can take longer, requiring one or two changes on the tube. There is less character in the Docklands areas and, whilst busy during the week, it can be quieter at the weekend as locals seek some respite from the City.

Shoreditch is very urban and industrial with a younger demographic. It’s popular with City workers and those involved with the Arts. There are many relaxed bars and cafes especially to the north on Old Street and Brick Lane. Access to the City is straightforward – it’s no more than three or four stops on the tube to Bank.
