North London
Camden (London Borough of Camden)
Camden lies to the east of St John’s Wood and has a more urban feel with more soul and energy than its more expensive neighbour. There is a plethora of pubs, bars and restaurants with music and live events every night of the week. Situated on the Northern line Camden is 5 stops from the West End.

Hampstead (London Borough of Camden)
Hampstead and St John’s Wood are upmarket areas with more of a family feel and accordingly the property prices are on the expensive side, or certainly can be. Hampstead is green and leafy and close to lots of outside space in particular Hampstead Heath and the centre of Hampstead has a village feel and a sense of community.

Islington (London Borough of Islington)
Islington can be found to the east of Camden and as with Maida vale is popular with young professionals and families and property prices are around the average for London. Upper Street is the main location for many of the bars and restaurants of Islington and access to the City and the West End is made easy by the Victoria tube line.

Maida Vale (London Borough of Westminster)
Maida Vale is West of SJW and is more residential than Camden with terraced houses many on communal garden squares and home to families and young professionals. It is here you will find the Abbey Road studios made famous by the Beatles. Maida Vale has good transport links with many buses along with the Bakerloo line giving access to 6 other tube lines.

St John’s Wood (London Borough of Westminster)
St John’s Wood provides easy access into the centre of Town is close to the open spaces of Regents Park, has wide tree lined streets and garden squares. It is a popular area for American ex-pats due to the local American school along with those working in Canary Wharf due to its position on the Jubilee tube line.

South London
Balham (London Borough of Wandsworth)
Two stops further on the tube brings you to Balham which is home to much the same demographic as Clapham and has a very similar feel with good local pubs and restaurants with both Wandsworth and Clapham Commons nearby.

Battersea (London Borough of Wandsworth)
Battersea is closer to the river Thames and lies between the two Commons and is popular with families and young professionals. Northcote Road provides most of the local cafes, bars and restaurants and is a short walk from most parts of Battersea.

Clapham (London Borough of Lambeth)
Clapham lies south from Kennington on the Northern Line and is popular with many young professionals as it provides good access to the city and has many bars, pubs and restaurants along with a large area of outside space in the form of Clapham Common.

Kennington (London Borough of Lambeth)
Kennington is the most central of these locations and provides good access to the City and West End via the Northern Line. It has an urban feel but also has many garden squares that are quiet and often home to a great local pub or restaurant.

Putney (London Borough of Wandsworth)
To the North West of Battersea and situated on the river is Putney. This is slightly further from the City but still provides reasonable access via both the District tube line and over ground train. There are a number of good pubs along the river and Putney’s location means it is easy to reach the open spaces of Richmond Park or head out of town on the weekends.

West London
Brook Green (London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham)
Brook Green is a popular location as it is just outside of the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea and thus the property prices are more reasonable but it still provides good access into the City via four tube lines including the Central and Piccadilly lines.

Chelsea (London Borough of Kensington & Chelsea)
Chelsea borders Fulham and enjoys stucco fronted houses and garden squares. The area is suitably expensive for its residents many of whom work in the financial and legal professions. There is a large international presence in Chelsea stretching north through South Kensington and into Kensington. These areas are very popular with Europeans, in particular the French in South Kensington due to the Lycee school on the Cromwell Road.

Fulham (London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham)
Fulham lies sough from Brook Green and covers a large area over the river from Putney north to Hammersmith and Brook Green and east to Chelsea. Fulham is residential and popular again with families and young professionals with average property prices for London and many local bars, restaurants and cafes close to small parks and greens. Transport revolves around the District tube line.

Holland Park (London Borough of Kensington & Chelsea)
Holland Park sits in between Notting Hill and Brook Green. Here there are lots of crescents and garden squares with some large, expensive properties. Ladbroke Grove runs from Holland Park Avenue up the Western flank of Notting Hill and has more reasonably prices properties although still at a higher price than nearby Brook Green and Maida Vale.

Kensington (London Borough of Kensington & Chelsea)
High Street Kensington gives access to Hyde Park to the East and Notting Hill to the north. The property prices throughout the Royal Borough are high and this remains true in Notting Hill at the top of K & C, Hyde Park is not far away and there is always a good restaurant, café or bar nearby and access to the City is made easy by the Central Line.

East London
Docklands (London Borough of Tower Hamlets)
The Docklands including Canary Wharf covers a large area and comprises almost entirely new build properties and high rise apartment buildings. It is easy to reach the City although the West End can take longer with one or two changes on the tube. There is less character in the Docklands areas and whilst busy during the week can be quieter on the weekend as locals seek some respite from the City.

Shoreditch (London Borough of Tower Hamlets / Hackney)
Shoreditch is very urban and industrial with a younger demographic, popular with City workers and those involved with the Arts. There are many relaxed bars and cafes especially to the north on Old Street and Brick Lane. Access to the City is straight forward with no more than three or four stops on the tube to Bank.
